Emcure Pharmaceuticals co-founder Namita Thapar confessed her Hindi was poor before she became part of Shark Tank India.
The excitement behind Sony TV’s Shark Tank India does not seem to die down despite it having gone off-air a long time back. The show’s judges and successful entrepreneurs Ashneer Grover , Aman Gupta , Anupam Mittal , Vineeta Singh, Namita Thapar , Peyush Bansal, and Ghazal Alagh , have become household names and created a huge fanbase for their interesting revelations and anecdotes from the show.
Here is another interesting revelation about the ‘pharma queen’ Namita Thapar which will certainly leave you surprised. Recently, we found a fun interview of Namita and Aman Gupta with YouTubers Tanmay Bhatt, Rohan Joshi , and Sahil Shah in which they spill the beans about their journey on the show.
During the virtual interview, the Emcure Pharmaceuticals co-founder made a confession that her Hindi was poor before she joined the show. She revealed that it was Ashneer and Anupam, who helped her improve her command on the Hindi language. She said, “My Hindi was very poor before joining the show, and Ashneer and Anupam have contributed significantly to improve my Hindi. The kind of words they were using, my god!. To which, Rohan replied that the two must have taught her two different words. Quickly then, Aman added that “the words are Tehzeeb and Doglapan.” Watch here:
For the unversed, the BharatPe founder Ashneer and Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal have often heard speaking in Hindi and using difficult words to talk to the new entrepreneurs on the show. Ashneer’s hilarious one-liner, “ye sab Doglapan” also became a meme that caused a stir on the internet.

Meanwhile, Namita has made investments worth ₹10 crore in 25 businesses on the show. She was earlier quoted saying, “I saw around 170 pitches and invested ₹10 crore in 25 companies that touched my heart. I invested ₹7 crore during the show and ₹3 crore post the show in deals I had lost out on and in a few existing deals to increase my stake.”
