‘I love him a lot’: Mika’s Swayamvar winner Akanksha Puri talks about their bond; reveals his thoughts on marriage

Even though Swayamvar shows never work out the way fans expect them to, they are always fun to watch. May it be Rakhi Ka Swayamwar, or Shehnaaz Gill and Paras Chhabra starrer Mujhse Shaadi Karoge. So when it was announced that singer and eligible bachelor Mika Singh is looking for his soulmate, fans were obviously excited. After a month of searching, Mika selected his good friend, actress and wildcard contestant Akanksha Puri to be his bride last year in July. However, just three months later the Swayamvar – Mika Di Vohti winner revealed that they are not a couple.

Akanksha had stated that nothing changed between them post the reality show and they continue to be good friends. Well, recently the actress was asked about her current status with Mika when she was snapped by the paparazzi at an award function. Akanksha shared that when a relationship is deep, it does not change no matter how much time goes by. Which is why her bond with Mika is still intact, it has not changed. The actress stated, “I love him a lot. And he loves me a lot, as a friend as his best friend. Toh humaara jo ek bond hai, kabhi toota nahi.”

When asked about wedding plans, Akanksha replied, “See iske baare mein I think mujhe kehna nahi chahiye kuchh. Jab karenge toh pata lag jaayega. Par I think yeh school of marriage ko zyaada believe Mika ji toh nahi karte. Toh mujhe nahi pata aage ka kya hai but dosti jo hai woh humesha rahegi.” She added that when friendship turns into another relationship, it is always better for those involved. In the past, we have not seen any couple who survived in the real world after meeting on a Swayamwar show. Let’s wait and watch if Mika and Akanksha are the lucky ones who make it.
