'Humlog yaha charity nahi kar rahe': Shark Tank India 2 judge Amit Jain hits back at Anupam Mittal's warning to pitcher on debt raise
Anupam and Amit locked horns once again during the pitch of mother-son duo Sangeeta Sharma and Pranav Sharma, who introduced their atta brand, to sharks.
In the latest episode of the business reality show Shark Tank India 2 , co-judges Amit Jain and Anupam Mittal once again got into a mild altercation. It happened during the pitch of mother-son duo Sangeeta Sharma and Pranav Sharma who introduced their atta brand to sharks. Sangeeta also opened up about her struggle during her husband’s cardiac arrest and son’s intestinal injury. She also told an emotional story behind her brand packaging that has her late brother’s photo. Their ask was Rs 40 lakhs for 10 percent equity.
Anupam opted out of funding suggesting the pitchers not get into any investment. Even Namita Thapar agreed to him and told them to go solo and build the business. However, Amit Jain made an offer of Rs 20 lakhs for 25 percent equity and Rs 20 lakh in debt for 12 percent interest. Later, Vineeta Singh also made a similar offer asking for 20 percent equity of Rs 20 lakh and 12 percent interest against Rs 20 lakh debt. Aman Gupta said that the pitcher already has two good offers hence he is out.
Further, Vineeta and Amit made a joint offer of Rs 20 lakhs for 20 percent equity and Rs 20 lakhs in debt for 12 percent. It was then that Anupam again suggested pitcher not take debt, and came into the deal offering them Rs 40 lakh for 20 percent equity. After which Amit taunted, “Yeh toh out ho chuke the, inko interest koi nahi tha." Then began a bidding war as Amit and Vineeta revised their offer to Rs 30 lakhs for 20 percent and 10 lakhs for 12 percent equity. But Anupam remained persuasive to the pitcher saying, “Aap udhaar mat lijiye.”After which Amit makes their debt of 10 lakhs interest-free, and says, “Humlog charity nahi kar rahe hai, we believe ki aap kuch banaoge inko(Anupam) toh believe hi nahi tha aap par.” Eventually, the deal went to Anupam.
