Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai fame Shubhangi Atre confirms split from husband after 19 years of marriage, says 'mental stability is paramount'

Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain fame Shubhangi Atre has been quiet about her troubled marriage for a long time. She had been living alone with her 18-year-old daughter Ashi for almost a year. She recently confirmed that she separated from her husband Piyush, with whom she tied the knot in 2003. She stated her relationship has reached a point where the damages are beyond repair, and reconciliation seems unlikely.

In a recent interview with Etimes, she said that they tried their best to save their marriage but eventually realised some differences couldn’t be resolved. Hence, they have decided to give each other space and concentrate on each other’s lives and careers. She further added that they will remain cordial with each other for the sake of their daughter Ashi. “She deserved love from both her mother and father. Piyush comes on Sundays to meet her. I don’t want her to be deprived of her father’s love,” she said.

Shubhangi has accepted that the decision will affect her mentally and emotionally but she is ready for it. “It’s still difficult. My family is my top priority, and all of us want our families around us. But some damages are beyond repair. When a relationship of so many years breaks, it’s bound to affect you mentally and emotionally. I was also affected, but we had to take this step, and I have come to terms with it. Mental stability is paramount. I have always believed that adversities teach you a lesson,” she added.

Meanwhile, Shubhangi plays Angoori Bhabhi in the popular Sab TV show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai! Earlier, her role was played by Bigg Boss 11 winner Shilpa Shinde. She began her acting career in 2006 with Kasuati Zindagii Kay, and since then worked in shows like Chidiya Ghar and Kasturi
