The second season of Shark Tank India has currently started airing receiving mixed reactions from the audience. However, what did not go unnoticed was former Shark Ashneer Grover giving a cold shoulder to the show stating that he didn’t become a part of the 2nd season since the makers couldn’t ‘afford’ him. Now, actor-host Rannvijay Singha has also broken his silence on quitting the show.
Rannvijay who had hosted the first season of the show bid adieu to the same in the second season and was replaced by comedian Rahul Dua. Now, the MTV Roadies star has revealed that he didn’t have much to contribute to the show. Talking to Hindustan Times, he said, “I loved the concept of the show where young entrepreneurs talking only about business and the psychology around the sharks and why somebody would invest in them. But eventually, as a host, I did not have much to do. By the time the edits were done, we all realized that there was no way to push more of Rannvijay on the show.”
The actor added that it was a mutual decision between him and the makers of Shark Tank India to part ways. Rannvijay went on to say, “Even during the edits of the first season, they were like there is no space [to accommodate your portions]. It was more of a mutual decision. Now, the production does not just do one show. There will be more things happening.”
The Mismatched actor said that his job was to bring out the personal story of the pitchers on the forefront but that was done by the Sharks themselves since they were seamless in communicating with the pitchers. Rannvijay Singha said, “So, I as a host, basically had to help these budding entrepreneurs in putting their stories, but the communication was so smooth inside that a lot of stories and who these people are, just came out on its own. The sharks were pretty good at communication.”
Earlier, Ashneer Grover also revealed that he has unfollowed his former co-sharks on Instagram. He revealed to Youtuber Ranveer Allahabadia, “I feel there should be clean separation. When I was not there in Shark Tank India season 2, I unfollowed all the sharks from social media. Now it is their game, and why should I be curious to know what is happening on Shark Tank's shoot or what is happening behind the scenes? That is not a part of my life anymore! I want to do something different in my life so why should I live in past.”
