The month of November has an amazing slate of OTT releases as several high-budget films are preparing for their digital releases. After their theatrical run of two to four weeks, movies like Thank You For Coming, Mission Raniganj, and Fukrey 3 among others are eying streaming platforms. While the official release dates are yet to be announced, here are the tentative platforms on which these 5 most awaited movies will arrive.
The Vaccine War: Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the Vaccine War tells the story of development of Covaxin during the Covid-19 pandemic in India. The film is based on the book titled Going Viral by Prof Balram Bhargava of Indian Council of Medical Research. It stars Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher, Nivedita Bhattacharya and Girija Oak. Upon theatrical release on September 28, 2023, the film grossed Rs 7.14 crore in India, taking a worldwide total of Rs 9.47 crore. The film will soon be released on OTT giant Disney+Hotstar.
The Kerala Story
Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the film follows a group of women from Kerala who are coerced into converting to Islam and joining the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Starring Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani, the makers of the film have not yet revealed the streaming platform on which the film will be released. Though, the film opened to rave reviews both from critics and audience upon the theatrical release.
Thank You For Coming:
Directed by Karan Boolani, the sex comedy film failed to make a mark at the box office. It features Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role and Kusha Kapila, Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, Anil Kapoor, Karan Kundrra and Shibani Bedi in supporting roles. The story follows Kanika Kapoor’s ( Bhumi) quest for love and sexual pleasure. As per reports, the film is set to stream on Netflix.
Fukrey 3:
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the ensemble cast of Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, Richa Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi returned for the third instalment of the franchise. Bankrolled by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under the banner of Excel Entertainment, the film grossed Rs 111.10 crore in India, and a worldwide collection of Rs 124.41 crore. As per reports, the film will be available on Prime Video.
Mission Raniganj
Akshay Kumar starrer survival thriller drama is based on the Raniganj Coalfields collapse of 1989 in West Bengal. Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Pooja Entertainment, the film underperformed at the box office upon release in October this year. According to reports, the makers have decided to release the film on Netflix soon.
