Taali trailer: Sushmita Sen radiates power and determination as Shreegauri Sawant on a quest for transgender rights
The trailer of Sushmita Sen's series Taali is finally out now. She plays the role of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant.
The makers of Sushmita Sen starrer Taali have finally released its hard-hitting trailer. The series revolves around the life of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant who was the first transgender person to file a petition in the Supreme Court Of India for the adoption rights of transgenders. By the looks of the trailer, the show will also chronicle Gauri’s tumultuous journey as she transformed from Ganesh to Gauri and the stigma which she faced in the process.
Talking about the same, the trailer begins with Gauri as a child when she was Ganesh and aspired to be a mother recognizing the femininity inside her. She was soon treated as an outcast by her own family and finds a home within the transgender community. However, to find acceptance in the community and fight for their rights, she soon undergoes treatment to become transgender. Take a look at the same.
Gauri then becomes a respected and fierce figure in the transgender community and files a petition to the Supreme Court for transgender rights. She faces numerous hurdles in her quest to do so. We also see her adopting a baby and saying that you don’t need gender to become a mother, only a feeling to do the same. She also compares transgenders getting their legal rights to a child getting his or her mother. Sushmita Sen looks powerful and intense in her performance as Shreegauri Sawant and looks like she is all set to deliver another stellar performance after her crime series, Aarya.
Taali has been directed by Ravi Jadhav. The show has been penned by Kshitij Patwardhan. It will be released on JioCinema on August 15, 2023.
