Shilpa Shetty on playing a cop in Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force: ‘It’s actually a hero’s role; I gained 4 kilos’

Back in March this year, in a behind the scenes video shot on the sets of India’s Got Talent, judge and actress Shilpa Shetty broke a ‘batli’, a glass bottle, on action king Rohit Shetty ’s arm. She went on to say, “Rohit! Picture do mujhe!” A month later, the filmmaker announced that he is taking his cop universe digital with an eight part action series titled Indian Police Force . He then welcomed Shilpa Shetty to the crew as the first woman cop of his popular cop series.

In a recent chat with Mid Day, Shilpa expressed her excitement about the same. She was quoted saying, “It’s a huge compliment to be cast by him. It’s actually a hero’s role. I manifested it. I keep telling Rohit, ‘Main kuch aur maangti toh woh bhi mil jaata’.” Talking about her look, Shilpa revealed, “I gained around four kilos for Rohit’s show. I had to sport a different look for Sukhee. So, my weight was yo-yoing during these two projects. I had to look tough and muscular for Indian Police Force.”

Rohit had unveiled Shilpa’s badass first look soon after introducing fans to lead actor Sidharth Malhotra as police officer Kabir Malik. Later Vivek Oberoi was also welcomed to the star cast. Announcing her web debut, Shilpa had shared, “Ready to set the OTT platform on fire for the first time. Superrr Thrilled to join The Action King Rohit Shetty in his Cop Universe!” Currently the filmmaker is in Cape Town, South Africa shooting for the 12th season of his stunt reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi . As soon as he’s back, the team will continue filming the much awaited web series.
