Shefali Shah, in an exclusive interview, revealed that it was with Delhi Crime that she was put in the centre. In fact, she reveals haveing worked more last year than her entire life put together.
Shefali Shah has been an actress par excellence ever since she had started out. Filmmakers and the audience were aware of her talent, and she even bagged awards for her performance in films like Satya . However, for a long time, the audience got to see Shefali Shah in roles where her talent went unexplored. It was with the OTT series Delhi Crime that Shefali was back again, with a bang. The audience could not get enough of her performance and she has been delivering back-to-back good shows with Ankahee and now Human where she plays Dr. Gauri. Now, the actress has opened up about how Delhi Crime got her into the centre and how she has had more work in 2021 than her whole career put together.
In an exclusive interview with us, Shefali revealed that people had always praised her for her acting, but she had never seen it materialise with good roles coming her way. But after the Delhi Crime released, everything changed. Shefali revealed, "Delhi Crime changed the perspective of the makers. It put me out there. Over the years, I’ve heard people say ‘Oh, she’s amazing. What a finesse, what an actor’, but it never translated into work. Also, they didn’t know what to do with a woman of my age. Delhi Crime changed all of it. It put me into the centre. There are writers and directors who write stuff for me now, keeping me in mind. I am leading shows, playing parallel leads in films. And (I’m getting) such varied roles, such amazing scripts. And it’s great, it’s so exciting.”
She further revealed that 2021 was the year where she got her most work and added, “The work I have done in this one year, I haven’t done so much work in my entire life put together. Last year I shot like 6 projects. I’ve never done so much work in my life. I mean I used to do like 1 project in two years, as and when something really exciting came my way. And all the projects I’ve done (last year), I am so proud of them, I’m so glad I could be a part of them, directors perceive me in that. It’s great.”
