Pill trailer: Ritesh Deshmukh on a mission to EXPOSE the dark side of the pharma Industry

Ever since the time it was announced that Riteish Deshmukh will be starring in the gripping drama ‘Pill’ it has become one of the most awaited series to watch out for this year. And today, the OTT platform (which will be streaming the show) Jio Cinema, dropped its edge of the seat trailer of the series. One must say, Ritesh Deshmukh is definitely on a winning spree with this trailer.

The series promises to investigate and also research into the inner mechanisms of the ‘machineries’ of the pharmaceutical industry. The trailer of the series starts off with the introduction of the inroads of corruption which has made its way onto the creeks and corners of the country.

The narrative then takes the audience to the introduction of medicine Authority Of India, which is termed as the ‘Ram Nagari’ in order to help in the anchorage of the ever-booming medicine industry, which has been termed as ‘Lanka’.

The trailer then, leads the audiences to the introduction of Dr. Prakash Chauhan (played brilliantly by Riteish Deshmukh). For the unversed, Dr. Prakash Chauhan happens to be a righteous doctor who, eventually becomes a whistle-blower against the entire corrupt practitioners who thrive on practicing corruption in the form of medicines.

The gripping narrative of the trailer kind of hints and teases at the nexus between the corrupt pharma industrialists and a bunch of doctors who seemed to have compromised on their practices and above all sits the ‘kingpin’ of them all… the character of Pavan Malhotra (again in top form), who plays the role of a manipulative CEO.

If the gripping visuals weren’t arresting enough, the trailer of Pill also boasts of a stunning background score, which simply adds to the visual canvas of the trailer. Pill also marks the digital (OTT) debut of Riteish Deshmukh.

As for the series Pill, it has been created by Raj Kumar Gupta. The series will be streaming on Jio Cinema on July 12.
