Ms. Marvel Star Iman Vellani talks about the big reveal in the season finale of the show
In the season finale, a big reveal about Kamal Khan and the reason she has superpowers is divulged (Spoiler Below).
With the first season of Ms. Marvel ending this week, the finale brought a major revelation.
That Kamala Khan is a mutant and has major implications for the MCU , since Marvel acquired the rights to the X-Men franchise from Fox, fans have been speculating when we will see them in the MCU.
When Bruno told his friend that her powers stemmed from a "mutation" in her genes, the classic X-Men Animated Series theme left little room for doubt.
And this means that the studio will be introducing more of the X-Men soon.
During a recent AMA on Reddit star of the show, Iman Vellani was asked about their character returning to her comic book origins and being a mutant.
“Don’t get me wrong, I love the Inhumans, Black Bolt is my father, But I do think the MCU is in a very different place than the comics were and so we were actually able to go this way with Kamala.”
She also talked about the fact that her powers on the show were inspired by the X-Men character Armor aka Hisako Ichiki.
"We definitely took [inspiration] from Armor from the X-Men, but I like to think of it as a surge of energy which surrounds her as a layer of protection, i dont think she actually feels it like glass."
While we did get to see a variant of Professor X in Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness, this new revelation makes Kamala Khan the first mutant shown in the MCU.
Hopefully, we will get to earn more when The Marvels comes out next year.
