The upcoming Wonder Man series developed by Shangi-chi director Destin Daniel Cretton has got its first bit of casting news.
According to Variety, Sir Ben Kingsley will return as Trevor Slattery in the show, while we don't know who will be playing the lead, it is still nice to see Trevor return again.
Trevor made his MCU debut in 2013s Iron Man 3 in which he played a fake version of The Mandarin, before returning in the Marvel one-shot All Hail the King and then had a fun role in Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings.
Ben Kingsley is said to have a significant role in the upcoming series, this is not surprising considering that Wonder Man aka Simon Williams is a Hollywood actor in the comics.
In the comics, Simon Williams aka Wonder Man gets his powers after being exposed to "ionic" energy and gains super strength, Speed, and the ability to teleport and shapeshift.
He is initially introduced as a supervillain before being reborn as a superhero and goes on to become an Avenger.
Andrew Guest known for his work in shows like Community, Brokylnn 99 and 30 Rock will be serving as head writer for the series.
We are sure to know more details regarding the case and plot details in the coming months.
The series is slated to start production in 2023.
