Neena Gupta and Masaba Gupta are the coolest mother-daughter duo of the OTT space. While fans got to see their real life relationship translate effortlessly into reel life on Masaba Masaba , the duo now have reason to celebrate with both getting nominated in the same category of awards recently.
Taking to social media, Masaba Gupta bookmarked the rather special moment as both she and Neena Gupta earned a nomination in the Best Actor in a series (female) category at the Filmfare OTT Awards. Neena was nominated for her brilliant performance in Panchayaat season 2 while Masaba got nominated for Masaba Masaba season 2.
Sharing both their pictures from their respective shows, Masaba asked her followers who they’d be voting for between them. The caption of the post read, “Clearly not our faces when we heard we've both been nominated in the same Best Actor, Series (female) Comedy at the @filmfare OTT awards... Who is getting your vote?😜”
The posted cracked up quite a few fans and friends with Rhea Kapoor, Karan Boolani, Lakshmi Manchu commenting on the post. Several followers even lauded Masaba for earning a nomination beside a seasoned star like her mother.
As for votes, Neena Gupta seems to be the pick for many commenters but it certainly didn’t mean that they were any less impressed by Masaba’s act in her Netflix show. The designer turned actor has earned several accolades for her real meets reel performance in the show which marked her acting debut post which she also acted in the anthology series Modern Love Mumbai in Dhruv Sehgal’s ‘I Love Thane’ episode alongside actor Ritwik Bhowmik.
Neena and Masaba have both been nominated in the comedy series category of the awards alongside actors like Surveen Chawla, Supriya Pathak, Aadhya Anand, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Anushka Kaushik, Lara Dutta and Kritika Kamra.
