Mad Max spinoff latest set photos gives us our first look at Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa

After last month's leak from the sets of Furiosa in which Chris Hemsworth was almost unrecognizable as Immortan Joe, the main bad guy of 2015s Mad Max .

The latest leaked images have Anya Taylor-Joy transformed into a younger version of Imperator Furiosa.

In the pictures, she is covered in mud and looks worn out, and has already lost her arm, the actress is wearing can be seen wearing a green glove that will later be transformed into the character's prosthetic with visual effects, and it's already been established she lost her limb in battle with Immortan Joe.

In an interview last year the actress talked about her excitement to play the role and the amount of preparation she had to go through to physically transform to do justice to the role.

"The thing that makes me most excited about Furiosa is, number one, George Miller, That brain is incredible. I'm also really excited to do something physical. To physically become something else is something that will weirdly give me a lot of peace."

In the prequel, a young Furiosa is kidnapped from her home by a biker gang led by Dr. Dementus, who is sweeping through the wasteland wreaking havoc.

Until they come across the citadel ruled by Immortan Joe, which leads to an all-out battle between the two warlords.

The movie is directed by George Miller and the cast of the movie includes Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Nathan Jones, and Angus Sampson.

Furiosa will hit theaters on May 24, 2024.
