Lock Upp: Saisha Shinde shares how transwomen are publicly asked to prove their gender, pledges half her income for betterment of trans community
In a shocking revealtion on the reality show Lock Upp, contestant Saisha Shinde has revealed all about the treatment metted out to transwomen in public.
Lock Upp is inching close to its finale and the secrets and revelations made by the celebrity contestants in order to survive Kangana Ranaut ’s jail are also getting bigger. Talking about a rather moving subject, designer Saisha Shinde who has been one of the strongest players on the show, spoke about the plight of transwomen in the country and pledged half her income from the show towards the trans community in the country.
Saisha’s revelation on Lock Upp came during a task which allowed contestants to win a ticket to the finale. It was Prince Narula who appealed to Saisha to open up about the difficulties faced by trans women and Saisha revealed how they are publicly embarrassed and asked to prove their gender.
"There are so many trans women out there who are stripped publicly to prove that they are women. We have to stop this injustice and we have to together bring this change into the world. That change can only come when privileged people like me come out and talk about it openly without any fear and also accept it,” Saisha said.
Getting emotional about the subject, Saisha also added, “Whatever money I am making through this show, I've decided to donate 50 percent of the same to the trans community NGO's and charitable trusts that are run by me.”
While an official confirmation for the finale is yet to come from the makers, it has been reported that digital reality show will conclude somewhere during the first few weeks of May where host Kangana Ranaut will pick the winner.
Recently, actor Karanvir Bohra and Zeeshan Khan have been evited from the show and contestants are trying everything in their power to make it to the finish line.
