Lock Upp: Munawar Faruqui shares a tragic incident on his mother as his secret, leaves Kangana and others emotional

Kangana Ranaut ’s controversial reality show Lock Upp sees the contestants reveal some shocking secrets surrounding their personal life. The recent episode will see one of the most popular contestants on the show, Munawar Faruqui unveil a heartbreaking secret surrounding his mother. With the new promo released by the makers of the show, one can see the comedian’s revelation leaving everyone including Kangana teary-eyed.

Talking about the same, the promo sees Munawar Faruqui, Payal Rohatgi , Anjali Arora , and Ali Merchant getting an opportunity to reveal their secrets. Munawar goes on to press the buzzer first and soon goes on to tell his secret. The contestant can be seen getting emotional before revealing the same.

Munawar can be seen telling in Hindi, “It was the January of 2007. Sometime around 7 am, my grandmother, woke me up and said that something has happened to my mother. ‘We had to take her to the hospital.’ When I reached the hospital they were bringing my mother out of the emergency ward. She was screaming and I was holding her hand. There was a moment when … Doctors talked among themselves and told me to leave her hand. I still cannot let that go."

One can see everyone right from Kangana Ranaut to contestants Karanvir Bohra , Anjali Arora, Ali Merchant, Shivam Sharma, Zeeshan Khan to Saisha Shinde getting extremely emotional on hearing Munawar Faruqui’s secret. This will also mean that the stand-up comedian will be saved from the elimination after revealing his secret. It will be interesting to see who ends up being eliminated from Lock Upp in tonight’s episode.

Meanwhile, even though the promo did not reveal what exactly happened to Munawar Faruqui’s mother, one of his friends had revealed in an interview last year that he had lost his mother at the age of 11 by suicide. Munawar’s friend had spoken to Quint and said, “After some years of knowing us, Munawar told us how his mother had died by suicide when he was around 11 years old. He told us how this had affected him deeply then and (affects him) even today. We did not ask many questions.”
