Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor have come out strong after their mother and legendary actress Sridevi’s unfortunate demise. In the latest episode of the popular chat show, Koffee With Karan Season 8, the Kapoor sisters have finally opened up about the ordeal they went through to cope with the huge loss. Janhvi revealed exactly what happened when she first heard of the shocking news, while Khushi said that it took her time to accept it.
During the conversation, host Karan asked the two sisters how they dealt with the loss at a very young age. The Archies actor said, “It took me a while when it happened to accept it. It did suddenly hit me after a while but I was a bit confused. But I had Janhvi and Dad, so we were just kind of helping each other.” Janhvi then recalled an emotional moment that happened just after she learnt Sridevi had died. “ The thing I remember when I got the call, I was in my room and I could hear wailing from Khushi’s room. And I barge into her room howling and crying.”
Janhvi then talked about how her younger sister stepped in to instil strength in her. “But what I do remember is the minute she looked at me, she just stopped crying and started comforting me. I have never seen her crying about the same since,” she said. To which Khushi added, “I felt I had to hold it together for everyone because I have always been the strong one.” Karan then told Khushi that it’s a tough burden to take at her age.
