Karan Tacker like several of his contemporaries who debuted on TV has turned a new leaf in his career with the arrival of OTT platforms. The actor no doubt has been patient in steering his career in a direction of his desire and it has certainly paid off with his recent stint in Neeraj Pandey’s acclaimed show Special Ops.

The actor has been missing from the TV screen for some time though and in a recent interview, he revealed that it was a conscious decision on his part to keep TV projects at bay for a while. Talking to Hindustan Times, Karan has said that it was his way of ensuring that people take him seriously.

“It was a conscious decision to stay away from the work on TV so that people would take me seriously for the kind of work I want to do thereon. Leaving TV, at that point, paid off in a way," he said.

There is no shortage of TV stars today who have opened up about finding it difficult to switch mediums due to their work background and being looked down for it. However, Karan makes it perfectly clear that he has no hostile feeling for the medium that launched him and made him the actor he is today. He further admitted he had no qualms doing a TV if he finds it interesting.

Talking about not taking up projects before Special Ops came along, Karan further told the publication, “I didn’t want to do the things being offered to me. I wanted to work with a few makers. Working with Neeraj Pandey (filmmaker) in the show was a conscious decision and having him work with me was a blessing as it paved way for the next step in my career.”

Karan who is known for TV shows like Love Ne Mila Di Jodi , Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai was last seen on the show Naagin 3 in 2018 post which he took up no more TV projects.
