After impressing as a serial killer in Dahaad, actor Vijay Varma shifted his gears to play the role of a police officer in Kaalkoot. The recently released crime drama TV series has received rave reviews from viewers on Twitter. Written by Arunabh Kumar and Sumit Saxena and directed by Sumit Saxena, the series also features Shweta Tripathi, Seema Biswas, Yashpal Sharma, Gopal Dutt and Suzanna Mukherjee in pivotal roles. However, it’s Vijay’s powerful performance that took all the appreciation on the microblogging site.
The crime drama is centered around the life of a motivated police officer who manages his work and family commitments while attempting to solve an acid attack case.“Saw two episodes of #Kaalkoot, another series about a small police station in a small town, with interesting cops like Dahaad. But for a change, @MrVijayVarma is playing the role of a good cop. Engaging and an easy watch so far,” wrote one of the Twitter users. Another added, “The casual oppression depicted is so so real. But the show has some pace issues ..only 3 episodes released but Vijay Varma takes the cake. His meek attitude and silent struggles wah .. Bhaisaheb he can play both villian and a usual guy in a unique yet real way.”

Meanwhile, Vijay was last seen in Reema Kagti’s Dahaad, where he played the role of a serial killer. The series also features Sonakshi Sinha, Sohum Shah and Gulshan Devaiah. Up next, Vijay will be seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s Devotion Of Suspect X co-starring Jaideep Ahlalwat and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
