Bhakshak Teaser: Bhumi Pednekar as an investigative journalist fights for justice of young girls, netizens react
Actor Bhumi Pednekar to essay the role of an investigative journalist in upcoming Netflix crime series, Bhakshak.
Bhumi Pednekar is all set to make her digital debut with the crime series, Bhakshak which is backed by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. Inspired by true events, the upcoming Netflix crime drama follows the journey of Vaishali Singh (Bhumi), an investigative journalist and her unwavering quest to seek justice. The makers dropped the much-awaited teaser today(January 18, 2024).
The teaser shows Bhumi in Deglam avatar taking up a mission to bring to light a heinous crime faced by young girls in Munawwarpur’s shelter home. She calls out Bansi Sahu, who is trying to hide the crime. Towards the end of the teaser, she could be heard saying,”Bachchon ke adhikar ke liye lad rahe hain hum, samajh rahi ho? (We're fighting for girls' rights, do you get it?)" Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Bhumi wrote, “The story of one journalist who would stop at nothing to uncover the truth.#Bhakshak inspired by true events coming on 9th February, only on Netflix.”
As soon as the teaser dropped, netizens rushed to the comment section to share their views. A user wrote, “This looks so intense.” “Ek jabardast project best wishes to you always,” added another. Besides Bhumi, the film also has Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava and Sai Tamhankar in prominent roles. Directed by Pulkit, the series delves into the crime against women. “Our aim was to shed light on the harsh realities of society and spark conversations that lead to meaningful change. I’m looking forward to more people joining this important dialogue, said the director in a statement. The series is slated to stream on Netflix on February 9, 2024.
