Emcure Pharmaceuticals executive director Namita Thapar gave fodder to meme fest with her one-liner ‘isme meri expertise nahi’ in the first season of Shark Tank India. As she returned as judge on its second season, the businesswoman continues to use this statement whenever she wants to back out of the deal. In the brief Q&A section’ SharkXperience’ of the last episode, a caller from Bihar asked her, “Is it important as an investor to have expertise in every sector?”He also asked the real reason behind her using the same line even after being trolled badly for it.
In her response, Namita said that she is proud of her line ‘Isme meri expertise nahi’ believing it is not stupidity but rather a courageous act. “Many times I said that I don’t have the expertise. If I don’t have the expertise. It fine. Why should I be ashamed to accept that? It’s not stupidity. In fact, it's a courageous act,” she answered. She further explained, “You wouldn't be helpful to a founder if you don't have knowledge of that sector. So it is better for the founder if he or she looks for a shark who has expertise in that area, and who could be more helpful. So I am very proud of this line and will continue using it. She reiterated, “Isme meri expertise nahi hai and for that reason I am out.”

As Abhish asked her if she wants this joke to exist anymore, she responded, “It has happened a lot of times and why not? Bring it on dude! Agar expertise nahi hain, wahan nahi hain.” Meanwhile, Shark Tank India season 2 airs on Sony TV and Sony Liv every Monday to Friday at 9 pm.
