Kapil Sharma speculates why we haven't heard of Bhumi Pednekar's love life and it has to do with her film choices

Kapil Sharma can be seen wondering why there have never been news reports or rumours about Bhumi Pednekar ’s love life as the actress graced The Kapil Sharma Show . She was there to promote her film Badhaai Do with co-star Rajkummar Rao and director Harshvardhan Kulkarni which is based on the concept of lavender marriages.
While Badhaai Do promotes inclusivity and speaks of the challenges that the LGBTQ community faces, Kapil jokes about how in Bhumi’s films trouble often begin after her character gets married. He cited the examples of her films like Dum Laga Ke Haisha , Toilet Ek Prem Katha and recently Badhaai Do.
“Dum Laga ke Haisha mein inki Ayushmann se shaadi hoti hai, Toilet Ek Prem Katha mein Akshay Kumar se shaadi hoti hai, phir Badhaai Do mein inki Rajkummar Rao se shaadi hoti hai, Aur jab bhi inki shaadi hoti inki life mein problems shuru ho jaati hain. Yahi reason toh nahi hai, humne apka kabhi affair hi nahi suna (In Dum Laga Ke Haisha she marries Ayushmann, in Toilet Ek Prem Katha Akshay Kumar, then in Badhaai Do she married Rajkummar Rao and whenever she gets married he life gets complicated. This is why we have never heard of Bhumi having an affair).”
His observation made Bhumi and Rajkummar Rao laugh out loud but the comedian also didn’t spare the actor who tied the knot last year with his long time girlfriend Patralekhaa. He spoke about how Rajkummar seems to have lost all interest in women in his very first film post marriage.
Aapne dekha hoga shaadi se pehle jitni bhi filmein aayi Rajkummar ki, Gangs of Wasseypur mein ek doosre ko maar kaat rahe hain, dusri filmon mein ye ladiyon ke peeche bhag rahe hain. Shaadi hui, film aayi suddenly ussmein bolte hain, ‘mera ladiyon mein koi interest hi nahi hai’ (You must have noticed previous films of Rajkummar. In Gangs of Wasseypur it was about violence, in other films he’s chasing women but he got married and in the first film that comes out after that he suddenly says ‘I am not into women’).”
In Badhaai Do, Bhumi is seen playing a lesbian who continuously turns down her family who want to get her married until Rajkummar ‘s character who is a gay cop comes up to her with a proposition to keep their families out of their hair.
