Kamya Punjabi calls the new generation weak while speaking about Tunisha Sharma's death, netizens react: 'You are disgusting'

Actress Kamya Punjabi ’s reaction to Tunisha Sharma ’s sudden demise is now caught in a controversy. The former Bigg Boss constant labelled the current generation as weak amidst reports that 20-year-old actress died by suicide and her post is now drawing the ire of the netizens calling her reaction ‘insensitive’.

Tunisha Sharma who was found hanging in her dressing room on the sets of her show, Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul, was allegedly in depression and had broken up with her co-star Sheezan Mohammed Khan two weeks ago. After Tunisha’s death Sheezan has been arrested and remain in judicial custody as the late actress’ mother filed a case of abetment of suicide against him.

As the news shocked the nation, Kamya registered her reaction with a tweet where she wrote, “What’s with today’s generation? Thodi toh himmat rakho to deal with ur issues, ur problems? Why give up on life so easily? Why are they so weak? Pls think abt ur parents before taking such a drastic step, pls give some importance to them too they suffer more than death #TunishaSharma”

Kamya’s tweet sparked a controversy as the several users reacting to her post called her remarks thoughtless and ignorant. They in turn gave the actress in a lesson in mental health awareness and defended Tunisha by saying that not everyone is as strong. A few users lashed out at her saying she should keep her opinions to herself and blamed her being insensitive.

Tunisha’s death is currently being investigated by the police from both a murder and suicide angle. The police have however clarified that according to the post-mortem report the cause of death has been deduced to be hanging.

Based on the complaint of Tunisha’s mother her alleged ex-boyfriend Sheezan is being investigated but so far no angle of ‘love-jihad’, affair or blackmailing has come out. The phones of the two actors have been seized for further investigation.
