Updated : April 23, 2022 08:04 PM ISTBharti Singh who resumed work in less than two weeks after delivering her baby boy has reacted to the trolls who shamed her for leaving her new born son at home.
Bharti Singh reported to the sets of Hunarbaaz less than 15 days after delivering her son to host the grand finale of the reality show with husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa . While actress Surbhi Chandana was filling in for the comedian after she left for maternity leave, Bharti’s decision to resume work met with a lot of raised eyebrows.
The new mother has now reacted to the praise and trolling she’s been getting for her decision to return to work in no time and said that she’s no exception. She pointed towards the many women doing physical labour during pregnancy and household running women who never catch a break from their duties at home.
Bharti told Times of India in an interview that she didn’t work till the last day of her pregnancy or resume work on short notice to set any records but due to her commitment to the channel.
“I had no intention of setting any record or benchmark by working till the last day of my pregnancy and reporting to work immediately. My doctor told me that no one knew and understood my body better than me and that I should listen to myself. People will give you a lot of advice, but it completely depends on what your body is comfortable with. That’s exactly what I kept in mind,” Bharti said.
Bharti further added that resuming work energised her and made her happy while she was restless sitting at home. She said that she had committed to host the finale and wanted to respect that commitment.
“Our mothers and grandmothers would work and do household chores till the last day of their pregnancy. It is a memorable event of a woman’s life and in this period, every woman should be free to do whatever keeps her mind and body happy,” Bharti wrapped up the matter saying.
