Following the infamous brawl between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar known for his role as ‘Daadi’ and ‘Naani’ quit The Kapil Sharma show. There were several speculations that he left the show because Kapil misbehaved with him. In the latest interview, the actor cleared the air around his exit from the popular comedy show.
The Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki actor recalled the incident that caused a rift between Sunil and Kapil. He said that even before the team went to Australia in 2017, he had intimated to the team about his apprehensions. He said that he was not creatively satisfied with his character Naani who he played on The Kapil Sharma Show . He mentioned that he had a lot to perform as Daadi(the character he played on Comedy nights with Kapil) but his Naani character wasn’t growing. So, when it came to renewing the contract, he told makers that he is not keen on continuing on the show.
Unfortunately, Ali’s decision of exiting was embroiled in Kapil and Sunil’s tiff as it happened around that time. “Par uss waqt itna raayta phail gaya tha ki kuchh log baat ko uss taraf le gaye aur kuchh doosri taraf. Itna kuchh ho gaya tha ki kya safaai dena aur kya bolna,” he told Etimes. He also added that he can’t cheat as an artist and entertain the audience if he is not happy. He would look forward to collaborating again with him if something nice comes up.
Earlier, Kapil mentioned in a chat that he would block Ali as he didn’t know why he left the show. Reacting to it, Ali said that they missed each other’s calls back then and there was a communication gap. “With time, both of us moved on. But I am happy that I was a part of it and I learned a lot from him. I will always respect him. He understands the pulse of the audience and knows how to hold a show,” he told the news portal.
Meanwhile, Ali is all set to participate in the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (JDJ) 10. He will be seen performing as his iconic character Daadi in the initial episodes of the dance show.
