In the year 2023, the makers came up with exciting TV series in the genres of thriller, mystery, drama and romance. Some appealed to the audience, while others ended up being cringe experiences. The Trial: The Disney+ Hotstar legal drama series featuring Kajol is an adaptation of Robert King and Michelle King's The Good Wife. Directed by Suparn Verma, the series is centered on a housewife who, after 10 years, returns to work at a law firm to support her family when her husband gets imprisoned. The series faced negative reviews owing to its clichéd tropes and plot conveniences.

Aakhri Sach: The crime investigative thriller television series on Disney+ Hotstar, directed by Robbie Grewal is based on the Burari case. Featuring Tamannaah Bhatia and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles, the series seemed to be flat and dull to a section of viewers, though the performances were appreciated.

School Of Lies: The mystery-thriller series, starring Nimrat Kaur and Aamir Bashir, is about a young 12-year-old boy, who goes missing from a private boarding school. Directed by Avinash Arun, the show received majorly negative reviews for being too dark and non-sensical at many points.

Commando: From the direction, screenplay, and execution, the series failed in every aspect. The action thriller television series created and directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah is a spin-off of the Commando franchise featuring Prem Parija and Adah Sharma in the lead roles.

Social Currency: In this reality show TV series, the social media influencers are put to the test without their superpower. Starring Ruhi Singh, Parth Samathan and Bhavin Bhanushali, the show received negative reviews owing to being overdramatic and overacting. The series also features Badshah, Ashish Chanchlani, Sunny Leone and Kusha Kapila as special guests.

Hansika'a Love Shaadi Drama: The reality TV series covers the wedding of Indian actor Hansika Motwani and Sohael Kathuriya. The show is high on a gigantic amount of drama and also landed Hansika at the receiving end of criticism for turning her wedding into a web series.

The Squid Game: Challenge: After the success of the TV series Squid Game, the makers came up with a reality game show which began by pitting 456 contestants against each other for a whopping prize of $4.56 million. The show failed to impress the audience and got average reviews on IMDB.
