Netflix’s highly anticipated original thriller series, Kohrra has captivated the viewers’ attention for its hard-hitting plot. Starring Suvinder Vicky and Barun Sobti in lead roles, the show is centered on two Punjabi cops who investigate the murder of an NRI groom. Helmed by Randeep Jha, the series has received positive reviews on Twitter. However, some social media users feel that police brutality has been glorified disturbingly.
The show explores themes of patriarchy, child abuse and familial violence. One of the Twitter users reacted, “This series was good watch but I didn't liked how they glorified the police brutality. This was just so messed up in disturbing way,(sic).”The second Twitter user stated, “#Kohrra is good. Really good. Kept me engaged throughout. But why the excessive use of gaalis? And unnecessary sex scenes? And how bold are we getting with those sex scenes - is there no limit to what we can & cannot show? Uske bina content nahi ban sakta? Anyways, good watch,(sic).”

On the other hand, a section of people on microblogging sites declared Kohrra one of the finest Indian web series on OTT. “#Kohrra 6 episodes of slow burn cop crime drama, revealing a lot about psyche of contemporary Punjab, drugs, intergenerational trauma and the utter moral decay which has set in society. Highly discomforting but an overall standout series with top-notch performances!” wrote one of the netizens. Another shared, “Just finished binge-watching mesmerizing #Kohrra. Superbly written, directed with performances to die for. So complex yet accessible on a very basic humane level. The absolute best to come out of India since ages.” Watch the Twitter reactions here:
It is hard not to feel a sense of déjà vu as the story unfolds in #Netflix’s #Kohrra. #KohrraOnNetflix succumbs to the predictable beats of a procedural drama. However, the performances emerge as a saving grace, injecting much-needed vitality into this series.

Kohrra is unsophisticated and unapologetically real, so much so, it stinks more and more, with every passing episode, of rotting people and a decaying society. It leaves you with a bitter aftertaste, like you'd chewed on the truth pill, a bit too hard!!#KohrraOnNetflix #Kohrra pic.twitter.com/0TtvGrPpxv
