In the latest episode of Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss OTT season 2, Bollywood actress Pooja Bhatt opened up about her broken marriage with Manish Makhija. The actress tied the knot with Indian VJ in 2003 and after 11 years of togetherness parted ways in 2014. While talking to her co-contestant Bebika Dhurve, she revealed that her heart was not in place at that time and she didn’t want kids.
"I was married for almost 11 years. Then we decided that something is not right so why to live a lie. This was not a dress rehearsal, we get only one chance,” Pooja told Bebika when she inquired about her marriage. Further, the astrologer-turned-actress asked about her ex-husband’s birth month. To which Pooja replied that he was a Capricorn and which is why she got along very well with him. Bebika mentioned that Capricorns are very practical and they become good fathers.
Pooja then cited not wanting kids as one of the reasons behind her broken marriage. She told Bebika that her heart was not in the place in the marriage as she didn’t want kids though she loved kids. And she couldn’t lie about it as the matter become worse and the blame game starts. She concluded that whatever it be, she parted ways with dignity.
Earlier, Pooja talked about her drinking problem. She revealed that when she decided to recover from alcoholism she did it openly. She mentioned that addiction and recovery have been considered ‘man’s territory’ and hence women’s recovery remains hidden. Owing to this fact, she decided that she will keep recovering from alcohol a secret.
Meanwhile, Pooja made her acting comeback with Sadak 2. Later she made her web series debut with the Netflix series Bombay Begums. She last appeared in the 2022 film Chup: Revenge of the Artist.
