Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli Trailer
The trailer opens with filmmaker SS Rajamouli stating that he wants to tell “an incredible story” and hopes people get invested in the movie. The two-minute-long glimpse offers a look into the three superstars of SS Rajamouli’s films—Prabhas, Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan—who talk about the filmmaker’s excellence in his craft. While Jr. NTR says that SS Rajamouli is born to make films, Prabhas calls the filmmaker a ‘mad person’ and that he has never met anyone like him before. RRR star Ram Charan says he feels like a ‘third person’ when he watches SS Rajamouli’s films, even when he himself has starred in them.
Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, who presented the Hindi versions of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion, is seen saying, “He is absolutely in the bracket of legends and greats already. He is already a legend. Now he can become an even bigger legend.”
The trailer teases us further when the documentary’s producer and film critic Anupama Chopra asks composer MM Keeravani and other stars, “What is the headache of working with SS Rajamouli?” Calling him Pali Rakshasudu (Demon of Work), stars and industry experts heap praise on the legendary filmmaker, while Jr. NTR says that he wants the stars to deliver what he wants.

The trailer also takes us through magnificent scenes from the director’s filmography, including RRR, Baahubali Part 1 and 2, and Magadheera. Towards the end of the trailer, SS Rajamouli emphasizes that he is a ‘slave to his story’.
Rajamouli has indeed redefined mainstream Indian cinema with new fantasy period dramas, Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion. Baahubali 2 became the first Indian movie to enter the Rs 1000 crore club in record time, establishing a new box office benchmark for Indian cinema. From the trailer, it is evident that all fans of the legendary filmmaker’s movies are in for a treat with Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli, as it provides insight into the mind of the genius behind the pan-India revolution.
Produced by Film Companion Studios and presented by Applause Entertainment, the new documentary film will be available for streaming on Netflix from August 2, 2024.
