Marvel's Werewolf by Night first reactions are out and its all praise for the MCU first horror story

Werewolf by Night is an out-and-out horror experience as the studio had to give director Michael Giacchino and writers Heather Quinn and Peter Cameron the freedom to embrace the genre.

The story is set within the MCU and follows a group of monster hunters who gather at Bloodstone Castle to find and kill the monster responsible for the death of their leader.

In the comics, Jack Russell can transform into a werewolf at will but still retains control except during a full moon when the beast form completely takes over. 

so lets see what the first reactions have to say about Marvel's first step in the horror genre.

I hope we get to see a lot more projects like Werewolf By Night in the future of the MCU. It's a super simple story, but also aggressively self-contained and stylish in a way that's unique for the franchise. A very cool Halloween treat.

#WerewolfByNight is the most idiosyncratic MCU project since GOTG. As good? No. But it’s a remarkable breath of fresh air to see Marvel try something like this, as its tone and style are VERY MUCH that of the trailer.

Marvel’s WEREWOLF BY NIGHT is a B-movie flavored monster mash that’s clearly made with love and passion by total horror nerds. As a Marvel fan and a horror fan, I hope they explore more of this corner of the universe. And I hope Michael Giacchino is given the reins.

The movie will be 51 minutes long and stars Gael García Bernal as Jake Russel aka Werewolf by Night, Laura Donnelly as Elsa Bloodstone, and Harriet Sansom Harris as Verusa.

Werewolf by Night will stream on Disney+ on October 7th.
