'Looks more engaging and thriliing': Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti return with Asur 2, fans react to first look promo

Fans were eagerly waiting for the second season of the Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti starrer series Asur. Much to fans’ delight, the makers have dropped the first look promo of the same after three years. The short clip offers a sneak peek into the intriguing storyline leaving fans wondering if the ‘dark side’ will win over the other side.
The promo begins with a voice that says, ‘The world needs a new order’. Then Arshad’s character Dhananjay Rajpoot could be seen pointing a gun at a person with no regrets as he says, “Tujhe apne bhagwan ko jawaab dena hai, mujhe kisi ko nahi (You are answerable to your God, I am answerable to no one).” Once again a voice says, “Mahayudh shuru ho chuka hai, jis duniya ko aap jante the woh badalne wali hai”(War is going to take place, the world is going to change). Later, Barun’s character Nikhil Nair warns Arshad that he stop him from creating another demon in the world. Watch the video here:

Set in Varanasi, the show is set in the context of a modern-day serial killer having religious ties. It revolves around the forensic expert-teacher who teams up with his former CBI officer Asur to pursue a brutal serial killer. The first season of the show aired on VOOT and was released in 2020. Co-written by Gaurav Shukla, Niren Bhatt, Abhijeet Khuman and Pranay Patwardhan, the second season is set to stream on Jio Cinema on June 1, 2023.
