After impressing as a serial killer in Dahaad, actor Vijay Varma shifted his gears to play the role of a police officer in Kaalkoot. The recently released crime drama TV series has received rave reviews from viewers on Twitter. Written by Arunabh Kumar and Sumit Saxena and directed by Sumit Saxena, the series also features Shweta Tripathi, Seema Biswas, Yashpal Sharma, Gopal Dutt and Suzanna Mukherjee in pivotal roles. However, it’s Vijay’s powerful performance that took all the appreciation on the microblogging site.
The crime drama is centered around the life of a motivated police officer who manages his work and family commitments while attempting to solve an acid attack case.“Saw two episodes of #Kaalkoot, another series about a small police station in a small town, with interesting cops like Dahaad. But for a change, @MrVijayVarma is playing the role of a good cop. Engaging and an easy watch so far,” wrote one of the Twitter users. Another added, “The casual oppression depicted is so so real. But the show has some pace issues ..only 3 episodes released but Vijay Varma takes the cake. His meek attitude and silent struggles wah .. Bhaisaheb he can play both villian and a usual guy in a unique yet real way.”

Three episodes down of #Kaalkoot and in love with @MrVijayVarma for his understated acting as SI Ravi Shankar Tripathi. His silence and pause while battling with his inner dilemma show what a brilliant actor he is. Eagerly waiting for the next episodes. #KaalkootOnJioCinema
