Heera Mandi: Mumtaz declines offer to be a part of this Sanjay Leela Bhansali series?

Heera Mandi has been the talk of the industry for as long as fans can remember. The audience has been looking forward to this Sanjay Leela Bhansali dream project. It was reported that this will be a huge film, but it was announced this year that Heera Mandi will release as a series on Netflix . The casting has also made us curious and several names had come up. Now, there are rumours that yesteryear actress Mumtaz was approached for it.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama , Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Heera Mandi team approached Mumtaz to be a part of this Magnum Opus. However, she declined the offer. A source quoted by the portal said, "SLB had approached her, but she is in no mood for a comeback. She has said no to an offer to play a prominent part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s lavish costume drama Heera Mandi for Netflix”.

The same report states that the yesteryear actress was offered a pivotal role in the series, and this also required her to do an elaborate mujra. Well, had it happened, this would have been a spectacle and a treat for audience. The casting of the film has always generated curiosity. It is being said that Madhuri Dixit will play the most important role, while stars like Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi will also be a part. Alia Bhatt had earlier said that she will be a part of teh series for free if she is approached. The first, second and the last episode will be directed by SLB himself while the rest of the episodes in the 7 part series will have Vibhu Puri sitting on the director's chair. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next is Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi.
