GOTG holiday special
According to these early reactions from critics, the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday special is a treat to watch. With many calling it "a new Christmas classic,"
Many also praised the performance of Maria Bakalova as Cosmo the Spacedog who made its MCU debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol:1 saying that the character steals the show.
In the comics, Cosmo was a part of the Soviet space program and was launched into space in the 1960s but was lost in space. Cosmo miraculously survived and ended up in Nowhere and developed psychic powers and would finally end up in the ownership of the Collector.
Cosmo has so far appeared in both installments of The Guardians of the Galaxy as well the Disney+ animated series What...If? and will also play a role in the upcoming Volume 3 of GOTG.
The recently released trailer for the special reveals that the plot will revolve around Drax and Mantis as they travel to Earth in order to bring actor Kevin Bacon to meet his biggest fan Peter Quill aka Starlord.
While the remaining member of the team is busy rebuilding Nowhere after they acquired the space station from the Collector. we arent sure if Gamora will make an appearance in the special but we do know that Yando will be appearing in a flashback sequence.
The Special Presentation stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Pom Klementieff, and features Vin Diesel as Groot and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Sean Gunn, Michael Rooker, and Kevin Bacon.
So lets take a look at what the critics have to say

'The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special' is a lot of fun and made me smile a lot. Unlike everything Marvel it's not pushing the next MCU movie or show. It's exactly what the title is selling a holiday special. If you're a fan of Drax and Mantis you're going to love it. pic.twitter.com/f05ddmE1mP

The #GOTGHoliday special will melt every "No Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving" purist's heart. Such a feel good tale from @jamesgunn that shows everyone why @PomKlementieff and @DaveBautista are SO freaking good at what they do.

The #GotGHolidaySpecial is just so much fun. Not nearly enough Nebula, but that's an evergreen feeling for me. Lots of laughs and joy. And honestly, hard to imagine a better kick-off to a career for @kevinbacon, really excited to see where he goes from here. pic.twitter.com/LAijz56hjs

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is really enjoyable. Here for anything that celebrates the legend of The Legendary Kevin Bacon, but this is Dave Bautista & Pom Klementieff's show, aka Drax & Mantis Go to Hollywood, and they are a total riot. Especially while drunk.
