Ms. Marvel Episode 6 Review - A uninspired and dull last episode that feels more like an afterthought than an epic finale
Ms.Marvel
Kamala Khan and her friends scramble to protect Kamran from the DODC
The last episode of the series is very lackluster it feels like the showrunners didn't know how to end the show after they killed the main bad guys in the last episode.
The show always had a villain problem, the Clandestines never felt like a threat, and their exit from the show in episode 5 only ended by Highlighted the issue in the finale.
The only thing the episode dies well is set the upcoming ' The Marvels' movie and hint at the possibility of mutants existing in the MCU .
Had the writers focused more on plot and character motivation instead of pandering throughout the series, we could have had a great superhero origin story.
Instead, we end up with a series that is forgetful, similar to MCU movies you see once and don't want to revisit, like Iron Man 2 or The Incredible Hulk.
The main focus of the episode is Kamala and her friends trying to help Kamaran escape from the clutches of the DODC.
Kamaran who now has powers are struggling to control them and it is hinted that he would turn 'Bad' if we learned that his mother had died, Thankfully this doesn't happen.
The CGI for this episode is bad, while it was never great or even nice in the previous episodes here in the finale it is very noticeable,
We now know as multiple VFX artists have come forward and described the horrible work culture at Marvel Studios.
It's not just the VFX that holds the show back, even the writing feels lifeless and awkward, especially the interactions between Kamala and her friends.
Iman Vellani who did a great job so far does a poor job in the last episode, at times it feels like she didn't have time to prepare or these scenes were quick reshoots.
The rest of the cast also does their best with what is given to them.
The episode ends with a cameo from brie Larson and sets up The Marvels movie
overall while the episode isn't terrible, it does end up hurting the character.
Hopefully, Nia DaCosta who is directing the upcoming 'The Marvels' movie will be able to redeem Kamala Khan and give MS. Marvel her rightful place in the MCU.
