<p>The film industry lost a gem in veteran actor Satish Kaushik today (March 9). Here are some unmissable facts on the Mr India actor.&nbsp;</p>

Satish Kaushik started his career as a notable theatre actor before foraying into movies. He is especially known for starring in Salesman Ramlal which was an Indian adaptation of the popular play, Death Of A Salesman by playwright Arthur Miller. His played the titular role of Willy Loman. 

Satish Kaushik was known for his astounding writing skills too. He dabbled as a talented dialogue writer. The legend is especially known for his work as a dialogue writer in Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron which was helmed by Kundan Shah in 1983. 

Apart from being an actor par extraordinaire, Satish Kaushik also pushed his boundaries when it comes to direction. He gave Salman Khan one of hs=is most critically acclaimed films that is Tere Naam which was a Hindi remake of the Tamil film Sethu. He also explored teenage pregnancy in the movie Tere Sang which was way ahead of its time. 

Satish Kaushik was often hailed as the master of the comedy genre. His roles had an impeccable comic timing and he worked with many eminent names from the industry ranging from Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, Akshay Kumar, Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and others. 

Those who know him from the film industry not only hailed him as a brilliant actor but also a beautiful human being. While Anupam Kher called him his best friend, Kangana Ranaut hailed him as her biggest cheerleader. Neena Gupta whose association goes long back with the late actor once recalled how Satish had offered to marry her when she was left all alone to raise her daughter Masaba Gupta as a single mother. 

Satish Kaushik married Shashi Kaushik in the year 1985. In this rare picture, we can also see the late Sridevi posing with him and his wife. However, the couple saw a grave loss when their son Shanu Kaushik passed away when he was only two years old in 1996. The couple's daughter Vanshika was born in 2016 via surrogacy. 

Some of Satish Kaushik's favorite movies of all time include the classic Dilip Kumar and Madhubala starter Mughal-E-Azam. He also loved films like Madhumati and Upkaar. 

Not only the big screen, but Satish Kaushik also had his own share of favorites on the small screen too. Some of his desired TV shows included Mahakumbh, Devon Ke Dev Mahadev and Razia Sultan.
