2015 experienced Samantha in performance oriented roles besides being a part of hero centric films. Her first dual role movie “ 10 Endrathukulla “ garnered very good response followed by Thangamagan, where she went totally deglamed and gave a matured performance.
2014 was again a very successful year for Samantha, where she paired opposite two big stars, Suriya in Anjaan and Vijay in Kaththi where the later turned out to be a blockbuster.
She made her stand strong in the Telugu industry in the year 2013 with back to back hits like Seethamma Vakkitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Jabardasth and Powerstar PawanKalyan’s Blockbuster Attarintiki Daredi.
It was BaanaKaathadi in tamil and YeMaayaChesave in Telugu through which the audience got to see Samantha first on screen. She was very much appreciated for her performances and even got some awards for the brilliant debut.
Born on April 28, 1987 to a Malayali mother and a Telugu father, Samantha was brought up in Chennai and sees herself as a Tamilian, as she was brought up speaking Tamil and English.
It was in the year 2011 and 2012, Samantha rose to fame with some of her movies turning blockbusters. Dookudu with MaheshBabu was one which did great commercially.
Towards the end of her UG degree, she got into modelling. It was while working with Naidu Hall, Ravi Varman spotted her and casted her in his film Moscowin Kaveri.
Besides her cinema career, she is running a NGO named Pratyusha through which she has been doing lots of philanthrophical works for which she is being loved the most and supported.
The successful Samantha was also in a relationship with Sidhdharth and their news made the rounds in social media when the duo were spotted together in many occasions. Later they separated for some unknown reasons as per reports.
During the period, Samantha had also been signed on to feature in two big budget projects in Tamil, Mani Ratnam's Kadal (2013) and Shankar's I (2015) but was forced to opt out from both films, since she was suffering from a skin disease and could not work for two months.
2016 has been a dream run for Samantha with Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Blokbuster Theri and Suriya’s 24 in Tamil, Brahmotsavam with MaheshBabu and JanathaGarage with JrNtr in telugu and few other exciting projects lined up. Samantha is on the go.
She even did cameo appearances in NadunisiNaaigal and EkkDeewnaTha, both directed by GautamMenon who brought the actress in Samantha through his NeethaneEnPonvasantham.
