Lata Mangeshkar: 1929-2022
Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, popularly known as Nightingale of India, died on February 6 in Mumbai. The 92-year-old was an icon and her demise left a huge void in Indian cinema. She was a recipient of the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Dadasaheb Phalke Awards.Bappi Lahiri: 1972-2022
Legendary singer and music composer, passed away at the age of 69 on February 16. He died due to obstructive sleep apnea in Mumbai. Popularly known as King of Disco, he ruled Indian music in the late 1970s-80s with songs like Chalte Chalte, Disco Dancer, Sharaabi, and many more.KK : 1968-2022
The most shocking death of the year was of singer-composer KK, whose real name was Krishnakumar Kunnath. He reportedly felt unwell while performing at a concert at Nazrul Mancha in Kolkata. And hours later declared dead on arrival at the hospital on May 31. The 53-year-old died of a suspected heart attack. The 58-year-old complained of chest pain while running on the treadmill in the gym, and suffered a cardiac arrest on August 10. The Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead on May 29 in his car which was ambushed by unidentified assailants at Jawaharke in Mansa district.
