The new season of Bigg Boss 16 has finally started and while we all were super excited about the same, the show has been receiving some mixed reviews from the masses. The first week made noise for some problematic reasons too which makes us wonder whether this season will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor and emerge as a flop. Let us look at some of the reasons why we feel so.
Bigg Boss Anthem
Well, Bigg Boss 16 tried to bring in a unique touch with the morning alarm wherein the contestants have to gather together and sing the Bigg Boss anthem instead of dancing to a wakeup song. However, fans are finding this rather underwhelming and missing the fun vibe that the contestants used to bring when they used to dance in the morning wake-up song.Forced Love Angles
Even the close-knitted relationships between the contestants are not looking that convincing. Many fans tweeted that the relationship between Sumbul Toqeer Khan and Shalin Bhanot looked uncomfortable. Contestant Manya Singh also accused the duo of trying to copy Sidharth Shukla and Shehnaaz Gill from Bigg Boss 13.Fights Aren't Convincing
If not anything else, even the fights of Bigg Boss 16 in the first week didn't look organic and lacked substance. Be it Sreejita De and Manya Singh's fight or Shiv Thakare and McStan locking horns, the fights seemed to be having only for being seen and without any solid reason.Contestants Still Being Confused And Lost
In the first week itself, there were some contestants who weren't that confident about what they are doing on the show. Even talented artists like Gori Nagori and McStan look confused and lost during their stints on the show. Sumbul Toqeer Khan was also crying while complaining about her identity on the show.Trying To Copy The Ex-Contestants
One of the biggest mistakes that the contestants of this season seem to be doing is blindly copying some of the ex-contestants. Be it Gautam Vig trying to copy Paras Chhabra, Shalin Bhanot copying Sidharth Shukla's mannerisms, or Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia trying to walk in Rubina Dilaik's footsteps, the contestants are lacking their own solid identity on the show.Controversial Contestants
Bigg Boss 16 is also receiving a strong criticism for bringing in director Sajid Khan as one of the contestants who had around 9 women from the entertainment industry accused him of alleged sexual harassment in the wake of the MeToo movement in 2018. Netizens were trending 'Remove Sajid Khan' on Twitter and also started a petition to be signed as a protest to remove him from the show. Actresses who had accused him of harassment like Mandana Karimi and Saloni Chopra have also expressed their disgust at the filmmaker being given a platform like Bigg Boss 16. Another contestant Shalin Bhanot was also accused of alleged domestic violence by his ex-wife Daljeet Kaur Please Subscribe us OnGoogle News
