14 years ago, Aamir Khan and Abbas Tyrewala introduced us to Jai and Aditi, wonderfully portrayed by Imran Khan and Genelia D’Souza, and their crazy gang of friends with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. The wonderfully written characters, unique story-line and music by AR Rahman successfully wooed fans. Over the years the romantic comedy became one of the most iconic films of Bollywood. Till date, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na continues to live on in a part of our heart. Well, on the film’s 14th anniversary today, let’s take a look back at 5 reasons that made it an absolute masterpiece.
The star cast
While Imran Khan and Genelia D'Souza won us over with their chemistry, Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan were at their comic best! Each actor and character managed to leave an impact on us and stayed in our minds for a long time-- may it be Rotlu, Jiggy, Paresh Rawal as Waghmare and even Shakun Batra as Nilesh.Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah’s banter
While Ratna portrayed the role of Jay’s mother, Naseeruddin was the painting of his late father who often came to life to have hilarious discussions with his wife. Their chemistry was off the charts and the biggest highlights of this film. The back stories of their characters were very creative and quite unexpected as well! A total winner.Refreshing music
Composed by A. R. Rahman with lyrics by Abbas Tyrewala, the music of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was magical and left you spellbound. The great thing about it is that it is still relevant and manages to bring a smile to your face even after all these years. Kahin To Hogi Woh is a personal favorite!Amit and Aditi’s bond
While Jay and Aditi’s friendship was really special, the latter’s bond with her brother Amit was an equal show-stealer. The way they sat and spoke about being best friends one night, fought like cats and dogs but loved each other through it all. And it was heart touching to see how Amit knew who Aditi loved even before she realized it herself! Please Subscribe us OnGoogle News
