Ineya Has Been Replaced By This Actress In Akasha Mittayi

Actress Ineya, who last starred in Shaji Kailas’s Vaigai Express, is gearing up for the release of a handful of Tamil and Malayalam films. Well, the recent update is that she has bagged a lead role in Akasha Mittayi. Earlier, reports had it that Varalaxmi was booked for this role, but she called the producers ‘male chauvinists and egoistic’, which is why she was replaced with Varalaxmi.

During an interview with the Deccan Chronicle, Ineya says, “I play Jayaram sir’s wife in the movie and it is a perfect family entertainer. Since Samuthirakani sir has made a few changes in the story, my character will be pivotal in driving the story forward. I have scope for performance towards the climax portions. I have met Jayaram sir on several occasions, but this is the first time I will be sharing screen space with him.”

Varalaxmi will start shooting for Akasha Mittayi from April 1 in Kochi. Helmed by Samuthirakani, Akasha Mittayi is Malayalam remake of Tamil film Appa. Also, the Karai Oram star has a grand Tamil project in her kitty, which will start rolling in May.
