G. V. Prakash To Sing For A. R. Rahman's Composition In 'Mersal'

After a period of about 18 years, G. V. Prakash has again been roped in for A. R. Rahman’s composition in ‘Mersal’. Prakash comes from a music background and had begun his career singing in ‘Gentleman’, which was composed by his uncle Rahman. Since then, he had occupied himself with loads of singing assignments. However, his and ARR’s last collaboration took place in 1999.

Having been given a chance to sing for Oscar winner Rahman’s composition once again, Prakash couldn’t contain his elation. “It was a happy moment for me as I got to sing for AR Rahman sir after a long time. I rendered my vocals for an energetic number, with lyrics by Vivek. Rahman sir liked my voice and we had a nice time recording the number”, Deccan Chronicle quoted the singer.

The movie, ‘Mersal’, is directed by Atlee and stars Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha, Nithya Menen and Vijay. The movie is set to hit the theatres on October 19. Desimartini wishes the makers good luck for the release.
