Parmanu Trailer: Looks Like Another Film That Joined The Deshbhakti Bandwagon!
Today is a very significant day of Indian history. 11th of May is celebrated as National Technology Day because this is the day when India tested five nuclear weapons in Pokhran and enabled India to declare itself as a Nuclear State. And that is the story behind John Abraham 's upcoming film Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran, the trailer of which released today.
The film, for sure, would not be released in Pakistan and China, as it does not make any veiled references but talks about the nations openly. It also states the obvious about the U.S.
The film talks about how six Indian officers, undercover, went ahead and tested out nuclear weapons in Pokhran, away from the vigilant eyes of the C.I.A. The officers did it beyond their motive, knowing very well that they will not get the recognition as it was a secret mission.
The storyline and the event that happened exactly 20 years back is a tale worth telling. But the film looks like another Bollywood film that joined the Deshbhakti bandwagon. There are the same themes that are being played- a secret mission, unsung heroes and at least 2 dialogues on Desh. No, we do not mean that films like this are not to be made. But this film is going absolutely stereotypical way and has the same thing that we have been watching for long. In fact, if we put the last few John Abraham films, there are very few differences that we could actually find. The trailer lacks the touch of reality, like what we saw in Raazi 's trailer!
John Abraham, as we said, dons the same role that we had seen him in the last so many years. Diana Penty looks different and it waits to be seen how she pulls off her character.
