Jalebi Trailer: The Confusing Tale Of Love Looks Like A Remake Of Bengali Film Praktan!
The Poster of the upcoming Hindi film Jalebi had taken the netizens by storm. Needless to say, the poster was the centre point of so many memes generated over the last week. It was interesting and reminded us of a picture that was taken back in the 50s in a war hit Korea. But now that the trailer is out, we believe that the entire film might be inspired from a popular Bengali film!
Yes, the trailer for Rhea Chakroborty and Varun Mitra starrer Jalebi just released and it looked like one of the typical melodramatic love stories that Bollywood has been dishing for a long time. What is more striking is the similarity of storyline withn a popular Bengali film called Prakton that marked the comeback of the popular Tollywood jodi- Prasenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta.
The trailer is about amn impulsive and carefree girl who falls in love with a tour-guide in Delhi. He knows Delhi by its heartbeat and is absolutely in love with the heritage of not just the city but also his house. A peppy lovestory follows and the two get married. But things soon start to get bad and she feels stiffled in the house. They separate but will their love end.
For those who follow Bengali film industry would know how dangerously close the film gets to Praktan. In fact the train motif, that continued throughout the Bengali film, also plays a major part in Jalebi. Inspired too much?
