Glycerine found a new range of customers in TV industry when Ekta Kapoor started using is liberally for her female characters to cry in every daily soap. While it took a while for the country to come to terms with it, glycerine took over as the most important product in TV shows. While there are many stellar actresses who used it and stood out, there are some new age TV actresses who don't use glycerine in emotional roles.

In an interview to TOI, she said, "I have never used glycerine to cry on screen. Ever since I started out as a child actor, I don't know how, but I have always managed to shed tears naturally during emotional sequences. In fact, once I used glycerine at home, just to find out what it feels like. My eyes started burning after I put in a few drops. These days, I sometimes have to 'cry' for 13-14 hours a day, during the shoot, but I still don't use glycerine."
