Alia Bhatt's Hook Up Song From SOTY 2 Has A Ranbir Kapoor Connection

With Student Of The Year 2 just weeks away from its release, Alia Bhatt and Tiger Shroff have come together for the Hook Up Song. Alia -- who made her Bollywood debut with Student Of The Year in 2012 -- seems pretty excited about the sequel of the film and when director Punit Malhotra approached her for the song, she promised to "rehearse non-stop". The interesting bit that he added, however, was that the inspiration for the Hook Up Song came from the Break Up Song, which was in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Break Up Song features Alia’s boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor with Anushka Sharma and in an interview to DNA Punit Malhotra confirmed that the promotional song in Student Of The Year 2 was indeed inspired, “We took the cue from there, and that’s where the hookup idea came from.”

The Hook Up Song is a peppy number where both Tiger and Alia took our breath away with their dance moves and hotness. Punit, however, appeared biased towards Alia for all the efforts she put into the song, “Tiger dances well, but Alia has surpassed him. She has spared no effort and I give full credit to her. She had bruises on her hand, but the way she danced was simply amazing.”

Student Of The Year 2 also marks the debut of the two leading ladies Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey and will release in theatres on 10 May, 2019.
