Yo Yo Honey Singh accused of domestic violence
Singer Hirdesh Singh aka Yo Yo Honey Singh has once again landed in controversy and is this time facing serious allegations of domestic violence filed by his wife Shalini Talwar in New Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court. The singer’s response in the case has been sought by the court and he has been given time till August 28 to respond to these allegations. The case has been filed under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act.
“Case filed against Bollywood singer & actor 'Yo Yo Honey Singh (Hirdesh Singh) by his wife Shalini Talwar under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. Delhi's Tis Hazari Court has issued notice to the singer and sought his response over it,” reported news agency ANI.
Shalini claims she’s a victim of domestic and sexual violence, mental harassment and financial fraud at the hands of her husband according to an India Today report. The case was filed on August 3 before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ms Tania Singh. The court also passed interim orders in Shalini’s favour preventing Honey Singh from disposing their joint property.
According to reports, Shalini has alleged in her application that she was abused physically, verbally and mentally on numerous occasion by her singer husband. She also claimed that the singer made Rs. 4 crores in cash every month from his music and it was after such success that he started abusing drugs, alcohol and anabolic drugs. Calling the singer abusive and arrogant, she also accused him of infidelity with multiple women.
Married in 2011 after dating for two decades, Shalini claims Honey Singh kept their marriage a secret for several years.
