Shah Rukh Khan holds a record for the most number of Filmfare Award wins for Best Actor. The actor shares the position with superstar Dilip Kumar with both of them having 8 wins each. Shah Rukh Khan however had once confessed that his desire to win the Filmfare best actor trophy had once made him do something horrible.
Back in 1994, Shah Rukh Khan had tried to bribe the editor to get his first-ever Filmfare award for best actor for Baazigar after winning the best debut for Deewana the previous year. Shah Rukh did win but it wasn’t because he offered to pay for the trophy.

The actor appeared on Aap Ki Adalat with Rajat Sharma in 1994 and on being asked about the bribe Shah Rukh confessed, “When a person desires something, he becomes a terrible person saying I want this, that, a car, a bungalow, so likewise I desire awards. So I was very desperate to get a best actor award, because I felt, very objectively, I deserve it. I should get this award this year, so that want and desire was in me and because of that I became a terrible person. I went to the editor and told him sir I am a very bad person, I really want this award, but if you will take the money I will pay.”
His offer was refused by the editor but Shah Rukh did win the Best actor Filmfare trophy for Baazigar in 1994 which was the first of the eight he has won to date.
After his win, Shah Rukh in his winning speech on stage confessed he had a said some horrible things out of insecurity and in his desire to win to the Filmfare people and had in his speech at the award show said he came with a pocket full of cash.
