Taapsee on National Award expectations for Rashmi Rocket
Taapsee Pannu’s Rashmi Rocket is due to arrive on Dussehra next week. The trailer of the film has been acknowledged for bringing to the table the issue of gender testing in sports which has been misused against promising athletes and for the performances. While the film is garnering praises, Taapsee was asked in a recent interview about her chances of winning a National Award for the project.
Talking to Bollywood Hungama Taapsee spoke about not lobbying for awards and while addressing the question about her chances of winning a National Award for Rashmi Rocket said, “Main kahan pe jake mangu batao... dedo. Main kya karun, I can only perform to my best use jayada mere haat mein toh hai hi nahi na. Maine lobbying toh kisi aur award kisi aur award ki bhi nahi kari aaj tak tabhi itne saal lag gaye milne ke liye dusre award. Abhi main Nation Award ke liye kya lobbying karun.”
The actress further referenced her snub for the 2016 courtroom drama Pink and added, “I have no idea how to go about it other than making sure ke abhi nahi doge, aagle saal phir aaungi ek performance leke. I have kept that attitude since 2016 when I was not acknowledged for Pink. So uss time se my way of taking revenge is to comeback every year that is going to make you sit up and take notice of my work. Baki haar jeet to parinaam hai koshish mera kaam hai.”
Taapsee plays an on the rise athlete in Rashmi Rocket who challenges the law after a gender test brings her career to a staggering halt. The film arrives on Zee 5 on October 15.
