Sriram Raghavan's Ekkis Starring Varun Dhawan To Go On Floors In The Latter Half Of 2021?
Varun Dhawan's Ekkis To Go On Floors In 2021?
Varun Dhawan would have a handful of films in his kitty to shoot, now that the lockdown is over and shoots have resumed. While we might already be waiting eagerly for Coolie No. 1 to hit the theatres (now that it's all set to open), he would have four more films to work on. Amongst these is Sriram Raghavan's Ekkis, the film based on the life of Arun Khetarpal who was just 21 years old when he was martyred during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. If you had been waiting for this film, then you will probably have to wait longer.
The film was announced before Varun's other upcoming films like Raj Mehta's next, Amar Kaushik's Bhediya or Sanki, but it would be the last to go on floors. If a report by Pinkvilla is to be believed, then, it would go on floors only in the latter half of 2021. A source was quoted by the portal saying, "Sriram's film is a major war drama that needs to be shot extensively in different parts of India. Plus, it will need several actors because it is a period film based on the India-Pakistan faceoff. With limitations to have only 50 people maximum on the sets, it's not feasible to shoot a film of this scale. Although CGI could have been an option, Sriram didn't want to compromise on his storytelling. The film was expected to kick off some time now, but it will now happen only in the latter half of 2021."
With Sriram Raghavan, we can expect all the details to be looked into minutely and the film to turn out just as brilliantly as the others in his filmography. We are also waiting to see Varun don the uniform!
